Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes national park and mount bisoke hike
At a location of your choice in Kigali city, our guide will pick you up to transfer you to Volcanoes national park. On reaching the park, you will set out for the Mt Bisoke hike, which is part of the Virunga mountain ranges shared by Mgahinga national park in Uganda, Virunga national park and volcanoes national park, while hiking the On reaching the summit, you will discover a beautiful crater lake and the whole experience is quite a journey! Along the trail, you will discover a lot of birdlife and captivating scenery – the reason Rwanda is referred to as the “land of a thousand hills” with the rolling hills that can be seen from a breathtaking view. After the hike, you will have lunch and relax at your hotel as you await the next day’s activity. Alternatively, you can visit the ibyiwacu cultural village to enjoy the unique culture of the people of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay at Amikus hotel (budget) Da Vinci hotel (Mid-range)
Day 2: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to akagera national park
As early as 5:00am, you will be picked up by your guide to transfer you to volcanoes national park where you will get to participate in the golden monkey trekking, which will lead you to a number of different attractions in the wild, from the habituated golden monkey troops to how they go about their daily activities in the wild. The golden monkeys can be accessed when you hike the Virunga mountains in Rwanda, which will lead you to the habituated gorilla families, watching how they co-exist with one another, the environment and many other rewarding features. After the safari experience, you will embark on your journey back to akagera national park where you will arrive in time to participate in a short game drive. Later you will transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: full day game drive and transfer to Kigali.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to participate in a short game drive as you make your way to the hotel forlunch. later in the afternoon, participate in a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species, like the endangered shoebill stork and African kingfishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps.Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals, like the herbivores, the big five animals in Rwanda which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide to embark on your transfer back to Kigali. If you didn’t have a city tour on the first day, you may have it on this day before you are dropped off in Kigali or at the airport, as you may advise.
