Detailed itinerary
Day 1 : Pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
A guide from Kapo Tours will meet and greet with you at the airport where you will transfer you to Rwanda art museum and you get to see the beauty od of the amazing paintings at this museum that were designed by the artists in Rwanda portraying the history of Rwanda. After the visit to Rwanda art museum, you will head to a hotel in Kigali and have lunch.
You will after lunch head to Nyungwe National Park and you get an accommodation where you will sleep. After you will relax at the lodge as you wait for dinner and then head to bed and sleep.

Day 2 : Chimpanzee trekking
While at Nyungwe National Park, you will have breakfast and go for briefing at the park headquarters. You will head with the ranger guide to the forest and search for the chimpanzees. You will after spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees and take photos of them. You will get more details from the guide and then you will be transferred back to your accommodation and you will have a lunch meal. After lunch you will stay at the lodge and rest from the chimpanzee trek.
Day 3 : Canopy walk and transfer to Akagera National Park
In the morning after breakfast, you will be taken through some guidelines at the park headquarters before heading for a canopy walk. You will have views of Nyungwe forest and other attractive sites in the park like the landscapes including the bird species and animal species. You will spend approximately 2 hours on this activity and after you will head to the lodge, eat lunch, check out and head to Akagera National Park.

Day 4 : Cultural tour and an evening game drive
At Akagera National Park, you will have breakfast and get to the park headquarters for briefing and after you will head for a cultural tour at hemure refugee village and you will get to know about the culture and traditions of the people you will find there. You will get to know about the projects that are done in this village and after you will head for your lunch break.
In the evening, you will go for an evening game drive after briefing and you will spend there about 2 to 3 hours while on the drive. In this drive, you will be able to spot nocturnal animals like the leopards, lions, civets, hyenas and many more. After the drive, you will be transferred to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 : Morning game drive and a boat cruise
You will have breakfast and get to the park headquarters for briefing and after you will head for a morning game drive and you will spot various animals and birds while you are driving with the ranger guide who will give you details about the animals, birds and landscapes, after you will head for your lunch break.
In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for briefing and then head for boat ride at lake Ihema which will take you about 1 hour and you will spot wildlife like crocodiles, hippos and other animals which will be taking water along the lake and other attractions like birds that reside at this lake. You will then be transferred back to the lodg6and you rest after dinner.
Day 6 : Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will begin with breakfast on day 6 of the safari and a guide will rake you to the next location after checking out of the lodge at Akagera National Park. You will get a stopover for lunch and then you proceed to Volcanoes National Park to have an overnight stay and you will also have your dinner from there.

Day 7 : Gorilla trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
In the morning after breakfast, you will be taken by the guide to the park headquarters to be briefed and after you will go with the ranger guide for a search of the gorillas. Once you trace where they are, you will be permitted to stay with them for one hour, make observations and also inquire from the guide. After the trek, you will head for lunch and after lunch you go for another briefing at the headquarters.
You will hike to Dian Fossey Tomb and you will see where the American primatologist was buried and you will see other graves of the gorillas a d and you will receive information about the history of the gorillas and the American primatologist Dian Fossey Tomb. You will then go for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 8 : Golden monkey trekking
You will be briefed by the park wardens at the headquarters after you are done with breakfast at the lodge. You will head for a golden monkey trek with the guide who will direct you to the trails leading to the golden monkeys. These monkeys leave broken trees branches along the trails as they swing from one tree to another and they will be helpful in spotting them. After several hours if searching for them, you will spend an hour with them and you will return to the lodge fir lunch and spend the remaining time of the say resting till dinner time
Day 9 : Visit to Iby’iwacu cultural center and transfer to Kigali airport
Early at the lodge in volcanoes national park, you will have breakfast 8am and you will be briefed and then you will set off to Iby’iwacu cultural center. You will arrive and be guided about the culture of Rwanda and you will interact with the people that you will meet at this place. In your interaction, you will get knowledge about local dishes of the people of Rwanda and how they prepare them. You will later be entertained by dancing for you the kinyarwanda dance of which after a guide will transfer you to a hotel and you have lunch. After the meal, the guide will drive you to Kimironko market to buy some items for example souvenirs and it’s then that you will be transferred back to Kigali airport.
