DETAILED ITINERARY OF 3 DAYS RWANDA GORILLA LUXURY SAFARI
Day 1: Pick-up, Rwanda City and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali City, you will meet our representative – your safari driver guide and head for a short Kigali City depending on your time of arrival.
During the Kigali City Tour you will visit and explore the major historic and cultural sites in Kigali City like Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Craft Markets in Kigali City, Kandt National Museum and the Presidential Museum.
After this eye-opening tour, you will have lunch at a restaurant in Kigali City, after lunch you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, Kinigi. Along the way you will enjoy scenic views of the rolling hills of Rwanda’s a thousand hills, from Kigali City it is a drive of approximately 2 hours to the park. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at relaxation. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Have early breakfast and transfer to your briefing point / park’s headquarters where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts about gorilla trekking and the right way to conduct yourself while in the presence of mountain gorillas. You will be grouped into 8 people and be assigned a gorilla family to trek, then head to the starting point. During the briefing, you will be entertained by traditional dances and enjoy a hot Rwandan Coffee.
Enter in the jungle looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 hours to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent a previous night. When you locate them, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them observing their behavior which is similar to human beings, watch the baby gorillas being groomed by their mothers and breast feed and watch the silverbacks protect their families.
You are allowed to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off, then trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates them return to the lodge. Spend the afternoon at leisure recuperating from the gorilla trekking experience or take an optional activity of visit the Musanze caves or the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 3: Visit Gorilla Guardians Village and Departure
Have a leisure breakfast and head to the Gorilla Guardians Village “Ib’Iwacu Village” for an insight of the history and culture of Rwanda, this village is home to some of the former poachers who depended on the forest for survival.
Visiting this village contributes heavily to conservation of the mountain gorillas because they are able to earn from sharing their culture as opposed to poaching, you will be entertained by local dances and drama, take part in crowning of the king and the queen, be entertained by local dances and drama among others activities which will give more insight about the culture and traditions of the local Rwanda people.
