5 Days Kibale and Bwindi primates Safari
This 5 days Uganda primates safari tour is a remarkable 4 nights and 5 days safari in Uganda tour featuring gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and a Chimpanzee tracking tour in Kibale Forest National Park.
It gives you a great opportunity to trek the endangered Mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park as well as go for chimp trekking in Kibale National Park- the world’s primate capital!
Day 1; pick up and drive to Kibale national park
Your guide will pick you up from Entebbe international airport on the first day of your tour and and welcome you for the safari in Uganda. After a short briefing, you will start your journey to Kibale national park. Along the way to the national park, you will enjoy amazing views such as of tea plantations and hills.
You will also have lunch and later spend the day at the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2; chimpanzee trekking and optional Bigodi experience
After breakfast at the lodge, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters to begin your chimpanzee trekking activity in Kibale national park. You will continue into the Kibale forest to search for the chimpanzees. During your search for the chimpanzees in Kibale forest, you will also see other primate species such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys as well as a variety of bird species. You will spend one hour with the chimpanzees and after seeing them you will return to the briefing point.
You will also visit the Bigodi swamp during your tour to Kibale national park where you will see various bird species and also engage in a nature walk After the Bigodi experience, you will return to the lodge to have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3; drive to Bwindi national park
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge ahead of your drive from Kibale national park to Bwindi national park via Queen Elizabeth national park. You will also have your lunch en route on this day and your guide will drive you to the lodge for check in and dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4; gorilla trekking
After having breakfast at the lodge, your guide will pick you up from the lodge and drive you to the park headquarters. You will be briefed by the park official about the gorillas trekking experience as you prepare to engage in the gorilla trekking experience.
You will spend time in Bwindi forest following different trails and searching for the mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park. You will spend 1 hour with the gorillas when you find them and also encounter other primate species in the forest during the gorilla trek. After seeing the gorillas in Bwindi forest, you will return to the park headquarters and your guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5; departure
On the last day of your safari, after breakfast and checking out of the lodge, your guide will drive you to Kampala and you will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch and at the equator. You will continue your journey to Entebbe international airport or Kampala which will bring the tour to an end.
