5 Days Uganda wildlife safari
A 5-day Uganda wildlife safari typically combines gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with game drives and a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Some itineraries also include a visit to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking.
Day 1; arrival
You will be picked up from Entebbe international airport on arrival and your guide will welcome you for the tour. After a short briefing, you will be driven to the hotel for check in. Depending on your time of arrival, you will have a tour around Kampala city and later return to the hotel for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 2; drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
After having breakfast at the hotel in Kampala, your guide will drive you to Queen Elizabeth national park. The journey will take you about 5 to 6 hours and you will have a stop for lunch enroute.
You will also engage in an evening game drive around Queen Elizabeth national park and search for wildlife species such as elephants, buffalos, lions, hippos, antelopes and many others. After this evenign game drive you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3; drive to Bwindi national park
On day 3 of your safari you will have breakfast early at the lodge and start your drive from Queen Elizabeth national park to Bwindi national park. You will pass via the ishasha sector to the national park where you will check in at the lodge and prepare for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4; gorilla trekking
You will wake up early at the lodge in Bwindi national park and your guide will drive you to the park headquarters. At the park headquarters you will be briefed about the gorillas trek, divided into groups of 8 and start your expereince of seraching for gorillas in Bwindi forest.
After moving in the Bwindi forest you will encuter various bird species and tree species as well as other primates and when you find the gorillas you will spend 1 hour with them and enjoy taking photos and recording videos of the gorillas. After the time you spend with the gorillas, you will return to the park headquarters where your guide will be waiting to drive you to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5; drive to Kampala
After breakfast early at the lodge, you will start your journey back to Kampala. You will have a stop at the equator and also in Mbarara tow where you will have lunch. Your guide will later drive you back to Kampala where you will be dropped off which will bring the tour to an end.
